Kurtis Workman

News & Ag Director: Kurtis Workman

About Kurtis Workman:
Kurtis began in radio in 2000 a small AM station in Pocatello, Idaho as a fill-in host.  That job was supposed to last one week, now years later it has turned in to half career and half obsession.  He has also worked for news stations in Boise, Idaho and Tucson, Arizona Kurtis has never worked for a music station. He is a news junky through and through.  As a news director, Kurtis hopes to offer the news that benefits the community most.

Despite a strong radio and news background Kurtis grew up on a farm in Idaho.  After being raised to grow wheat and potatoes he made the change to cattle. In 1997 he began running a 2000 head feadlot and a 500 head dairy in Idaho.  Even in the few short years that Kurtis spent farming he has seen how the information avalible to producers has changed. The challenge of being part of a radio station that serves an agricultural audience is to offer news and information that isn’t a repeat of what is already avalible in other places.

“I have only been in the Wahpeton/Breckenridge area for a short time but I am completely taken with this area and people I have met so far.  Starting my day so early I have had the chance to see some of the most amazing sunrises and after living in a larger city for three years I can not tell you how good farming smells.”
