Holes in the Road

I hope to see all of you at KBMW’s 5th annual Taste of the Valley this Thursday! Come hungry and sample from a great selection of food and beverage vendors. The doors open at 5:00 at Hughes Shelter in Chahinkapa Park. Yes, you can pick up your tickets at the door.

With the election only a few weeks away I can’t help but ponder at where our nation is headed.  We live in a country where everyone is entitled to make their opinions known no matter how much they differ from everyone else’s. Now I can deal with banality much easier than ignorance which is why I talk about the weather a lot. Not that I don’t enjoy a ”friendly” debate but let’s face it, the general consensus seems to be that if you possess an open mind then your’re a liberal, vegan preaching dope. If you desire fiscal responsibility and a sense of morals then your’re a gun totting, right wing Nazi! It’s a strange paradox that the more “black and white” our thinking becomes, the muddier and clouded our thinking gets. It’s seemingly easier for over zealous nut jobs to spoon feed us our so called “beliefs.”  We pick up our opinions from whomever shouts the loudest and then wonder in the end why no one is accountable. What amazes me is the degree of anger, rage and hostility that accompanies our political and religious ideologies. We tag people with labels and choose style over substance. Our politics looks like something out of a Vince McMahon WWE episode. We live in a world where being “too nice” is considered a character flaw. In the end, we all stop breathing right? So what’s with all the commotion? What’s with all the noise? What I’d like to leave behind is a record of what I “did.” Not just what I “said.” Of course this is all just my opinion right? Talk to you later this week!
