With Thanksgiving right around the corner I find myself somewhat self assured. Last year I attempted…and succeeded in cooking my first turkey. Yes, it was delicious and filled my apartment with the aroma of my childhood holidays. I know this doesn’t sound like much of an achievement, but you have to realize that for me a peanut butter sandwich is a culinary triumph. So this year my confidence borders on cockiness. I may just cook the bird without the thermometer. I may just baste it when I darn well feel like it. Or…I may just play it smart and call the Butterball lady for a “taped” on air interview. i did this last year and it worked out well. I could rewind and catch every tip that she threw out. I think when faced with food poisoning or the Butterball lady I’ll opt for the latter. Perhaps this year I might even attempt home made stuffing!!!
