WRONG NUMBER ETIQUETTE
By Doug Groff • Nov 12th, 2008 • Share:Recently I recieved a message on my cell phone that turned out to be a wrong number. I don’ t have a personalized message set up so the person never knew they called the wrong number. I started thinking, is it ok to return a call to someone who left a message? Could a simple call back save this person a lot of headaches, or should you just leave it alone.
I suppose it really depends on the severity of the phone call, but do people actually do this? It’s an interesting question because I have done it once, immediately after the person called, they were thankful but a little surprised. Is this a neighborly thing to do or just another hassle in our busy lives? It makes you wonder how many times we’ve done it ourselves.
I think we should take some calls on this subject one morning… just make sure you call the right number! OH, it’s 642-8488 by the way.

Most definately!! You should let them know that they had the wrong #, perhaps they have the wrong # written down, or saved in their contacts…I have personally done this, and when I needed to get in touch with person #1, ended up with person #2…quite the dliemma:) (I had previously left a couple of voicemails for Rick, couldn’t figure out why he never called me back-wouldn’t ya know, the guy receiving the calls was Nick)…how is that for embarrassing:)
We had a similar issue….some woman started calling our tracfone, thinking it was her daughter’s phone. She yelled at my daughter about stealing her daugter’s phone. She refused to believe she had a wrong number.
