North Dakota governor John Hoven has placed several elements of the state’s national guard on alert to help with the clean up of hurricane Gustav and possibly Hanna as well.  180 members of the North Dakota National Guard are included in the call-up.  They have been alerted based on specific skills that the various personnel have.  Among those skills are water purification, power generation, and a security detail.  Included in that 180 are members of 119th air wing.  Hoven has also put two helicopters

on ready status and sent a C-21 to Andrews Air Force Base for staging to shorten response time.  Gustav has been downgraded to a tropical depression since making landfall.
