Small Numbers In Wilkin County Primary

8.1 percent of Wilkin County registered voters took part in yesterday’s Minnesota primary. In 33 precincts 325 ballots were cast. There were 3982 registered voters eligible through out the county.

In the independent race for U.S. Senator, Dean Barkley received 50percent of votes.

Republican Norm Coleman got 156 votes or 93 percent. In the race for the republican nomination for U.S. Representative of District 7 Glen Menze won with 71percent of the vote.

In the democratic primary for U.S. Senator 71percent of ballots were for Al Franken. Collin Peterson, the only name up for the democratic nod for U.S. rep in District 7, received 100 percent of the vote.

In Wilkin county justice races Paul Anderson pull 63 percent of the vote for the associate justice 3 position. For associate justice 4 Lorie Skjerven Gildea won with 56 percent of the turn out.
