Start Spreadin’ The News…
By Scott Sorum • Jul 28th, 2008 • Share:I survived the heat and humidity of the Bronx in July. As I return from my vacation, I want to tell you that I had a great time. It was part of my annual tradition of traveling to ballparks around the country. The plan is to close both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium at the end of the 2008 season. The Mets and Yankees are both building new stadiums, both located next door to their exhisting stadiums. So, I had to see the “House that Ruth Built” one more time before the wrecking ball comes. I also had to see Shea Stadium (I hadn’t been there before). Although, being a Red Sox fan, it was tough to see the place where the ball went through Bill Buckner’s legs back in the 1986 World Series. I took lots of pictures and have lots of stories to tell as I make plans for next year’s adventure.
